What is copper pipe sizes

Copper pipe and copper alloy pipes have the same wall thickness and are specified by the same approximate inside diameter(nps) and up to 12” and by the outside diameter 14” and over. Same as iron pipe

How is copper tube sized?

Copper tube (lengths) have thinner walls tab copper pipe.


They are specified by the approximate Inside Diameter (ID)

How is copper tubing sized?

Copper tubing has thin walls. It’s available in a range of wall thicknesses depending on the diameter and in soft tempered coils up to 100ft length.


Two common wall thickness are 0.028”WT which is available in diameters of 1/8” to 1/2”


0.032”WT which is available in diameters of 1/8” to 3/4”


When ordering tubing you must specify the size and the wall thickness as


3x100’ coils; 1/4” OD x 0.028”WT copper tubing
