What are the first three manufactured pipes with grades/weights and wall thickness

(STD) standard

(XS) (XH) extra strong / extra heavy

(XXS) (XXH) double extra strong/

Double extra heavy

What are schedule numbers and what do they do

To broaden the range of wall thickness available. Schedule numbers were introduced. These numbers indicate 1000 times the pressure stress from schedule 10 (S-10) to schedule 160 (S-160)

What are the pressure ratings of the 3 different pipe ? And where does jt apply

STD = standard grade threaded pipe sustains pressures up to 150 lbs per square inch gauge (psig) and is used in most residential work

XS/XH = extra strong is used in applications involving pressure of 2000 per square inch gauge and in services involving excessine corrosion. LP gas vapour lines operating at pressures over 125 psi should be extra strong grade unless the joints are welded

XXS/XXH = extra strong pipe grade is used in hydraulic systems and services involving 1000 psi and above
