Inductive Theories

Postulates

Fundamental or core assumptions of a theory that are taken as slef-evidently true; finding corollaries to support the postulate

Propositions

General relational statements that may be true or false; not tested directly but used to derive hypotheses; like hypothesis of a theory, but is anchored with postulate.

Conceptual Definitions

Concepts in the hypotheses defined precisely for accurate measures; varies in every theory; not measurable

Operational Defintions

Procedures or operations used to defined particular constructs; measurable

Duplication or repetition of an experiment or study; one way to measure external validity of a theory; if it is modifiable or plagiarized
