The life here is very harsh, thus very few people choose to live in this zone. Tribes like inuits (Eskimos)are found in Arctic, Lapps in northern part of Scandinava and Samoyeds, Yakuts and Chukchis are found in Siberia. The major occupations are reindeer herding, hunting, trapping of animals and catching fish. They used harpoons to hunt animals, but now they use rifles. They lived in igloos earlier and now they live in wooden houses. |
