efforts to control body responses.

Voluntary control, its sensory neurons carry info about the external environment inward.

Autonomic System

Internal reactions.


Sympathetic nervous system- epinephrine and norepinephrine.


Parasympathetic-"rest and digest".


Uses acetylcholine to control organ responses.

Grey Matter

Unmyelinated axons, cell bodies, dendrites, in brain the grey is on the outside and in the spinal cord the grey in on the inside.

White Matter

Myelinated axons that run in tracks, inner region of brain and outer region of spinal cord.
