Matter
Anything that has mass and takes up space.
Mass
A measure of how much matter there is an object.
Volume
The amount of space an object takes up.
Property
A characteristic that describes matter.
Solid
A state of matter that has a definite shape and a definite volume.
Liquid
The state of matter that has a definite volume but no definite shape.
Gas
A state of matter that has no definite shape or volume.
States of Matter
Any of the three forms that matter may ordinarily take: solid, liquid, or gas.
Atom
The smallest particle of an element that has the properties of that element.
Physical Change
A change in which the size, shape, or state of matter changes, but no new substances are formed. (A REVERSIBLE CHANGE)
Chemical Change

Condense
To change states from a gas to a liquid, mainly due to the temperature getting cooler.

Freeze
To change states from a liquid to a solid, mainly due to the temperature getting colder.
Melt
to change states from a solid to a liquid, mainly due to the temperature getting warmer.
Mixture
A combination of substances in which a chemical reaction does not occur.
Pressure
Physical force placed on an object.
Solution
A mixture in which one substance is spread evenly through another substance, such as a solid dissolving in a liquid and becoming invisible.
