What are the five steps to certification?

1. Read the Spinning Instructor Manual.


2.Attend the Spinning Instructor Training.


3.Pass the online exam. (Refer to the study guide to review the testing domains and topics you should study before taking the online exam)


4.Register for your SPIN® Association account(you receive a complimentary six-month SPIN Association membership from the date of your Spinning Instructor Training and have full access to the benefits of the program.


5.Study independently,practice,train,and teach classes on the bike.

How to prepare for Spinning® Instructor Training?

For the best experience and proper attainment of knowledge:



1.Read the Spinning Instructor Manual before you attend the training


2. If you are not familiar with the Spinning program, take at least three Spinning classes on a Spinner® bike prior to attending the training.


3.Familiarize yourself with a heart rate monitor. Heart rate training is an integral component of the Spinning program. If you do not have a monitor, you can order one at www.spinning.com or by calling 800-847-7746(for customers in the US, Canada, Asia, South America, and Australia) or +31-0-1059-04508(for customers in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa)


4-If you did not fill out the online waiver, copies of the waiver are located on the pages before the Table of Contents. Fill out and give a copy to your Master Instructor; the other copy is for your records.

When can you take the online exam?

After your Master Instructor confirms your attendance, you will be able to access the online exam from your instructor account at www.spinning.com.

About passing the online exam

You must successfully complete the online exam with a passing score of 80% or higher.



If you do not pass the exam on your first attempt, you will be able to retake it.



After passing the exam, an official Certified Spinning Instructor card will be mailed to you.


(This card provides proof that you can use the Certified Spinning Instructor title and that you completed all the requirements for the Level 1 Spinning Instructor Certification, created and owned by Mad Dogg Athletics, Inc.

How do I maintain my certification?

You obviously must stay engaged in the program- know what's going on and be up-to-date with the latest program information available



Stay active by satisfying these two important requirements:



1.Active SPIN Association membership: after your complimentary six-month membership expires, renew your membership in the SPIN Association. Standard membership is 12 months.



2.Accrue 14 SPIN® CECs every two years
