Dysphonia
Disorder of the voice. Difficulty or discomfort talking, with abnormal pitch or volume, due to laryngeal disease. Voice sounds are whispered or hoarse but articulation is intact
Dysarthria
Disorder of articulation. Distorted speech sounds. Speech may sound unintelligible, only has basic language
Global aphasia
Most common and severe form. Spontaneous speech absent or reduced to a few stereotypes words or sounds. Comprehension is absent or reduced to only the person's own name and a few select words
Broca's aphasia
Can understand language but cannot express themselves using language
Wernicke's aphasia
Can hear sounds and words but can't relate them to experiences. Speech is fluent, effortless, and well-articulated
