what do sebaceous glands do

produce sebum along side of the shaft of a hair follicles to create a waterproof layer to the skin, keeping the skin supple

a bruise from blunt force striking the body. cells within the dermis are damaged and small blood vessels are usually torn.

the blue or black discoloration in a contusion injury

what is a hematoma

a collection of blood within an injury or a body cavity that usually occurs when a large blood vessel is torn and bleeds rapidly

what is caompartment syndrome

when swelling occurs and the blood vessels become compressed, cutting of blood flow

a wound to the superficial layer of skin caused by friction against a hard or rough surface

a jaggaed cut from a sharp object or blunt trauma that causes the skin to tear
