Trade was increasing in Europe but also with places outside of Europe. In China came silk and dyes, as well as dishes. Some of the precious goods from the East is cloves, cinnamon, pepper, nutmeg, and ginger.

The lords soon got weak and strong rulers emerged in Europe. Then countries became safer and people began to travel more.

During this time there was a time of rebirth called Renaissance. Books could be made quickly and cheaper.
