The Radio
A new device invented in 1920 by Ernst Alexanderson that made public communication easier and better, while it created a new source of entertainment and changed the way America entertained themselves.
The Rocket Ship
The rocket ship, launched for the first time in 1926 by Robert Hutchings (although having been created and patented in 1914) revolutionized technology for it allowed America and the world to explore more than just the planet, but also outer space.
The Band-Aid
The band aid, invented in 1920 by Earle Dickson, changed America's amount of health awareness as well as prevented common infection from spreading in the small cuts that people got very commonly.
The Vacuum (the first upright vacuum)
The upright vacuum was invented in 1926 and began to change the way housewives cleaned, and was one of the main causes for the fad of consumerism.
Automobiles
The automobile was not invented in the 1920s, but became wildly popular and cheaper due to the assembly line which produced the vehicles faster and for a cheaper price.
Traffic Lights
With the increasing popularity of cars, the traffic light was a crucial invention invented in 1920 by William Potts which regulated traffic for a safer and more organized driving experience.
The lie detector
This invention was invented in 1921 by John A. Larson and changed the way a crime was investigated, for if a person was questioned, the reliability of the information could be proven by the detector to see if the info given is a lie or the truth.
The Washing Machine
In the 1920s, it was a weird looking contraption, but not only did it support consumerism, but also helped housewives in the way they cleaned and changed the lives of women. A newly improved and much more popular washing machine was manufactured and sold in the early 1920s.
Frozen Food
Invented in 1923 by Clarence Birdseye, frozen food allowed families to preserve the food instead of having to eat the food they bought from the store on a daily basis before it grew bad, so many people stocked their fridges with it.
The Refrigerator
It was another invention that lead to consumerism, with many different models invented all through the 1800s, and finally became popular in the 1920s. It allowed food to be kept for long periods of time without growing bad or old, while keeping liquid such as milk cold and fresh.
