Normal CVP

= 0-6

Pulm Artery Pressure

In the pulm arteries 15-25/ 5-15

Pulm. capillary wedge pressure

= pressure in L ventricle at end of diastole = 6-12

CO

4-8 L/ min

Cardiac index

Output for body surface area Norm= 2.5-4 L/min

Systemic Vasc. resistance

L ventricle must pump against 800-1200

# 1 tx of all shock

IVF

Grid on shock

3 types of distributive shock

Septic Anaphylactic Neurogenic

Definition of distributive Shock

Vasodilation, decreased intravascular volume, reduced peripheral vascular resistance, loss capillary integrity

Cardiogenic shock

Loss of contractile fxn impaired CO, 02 delivery

Obstructive shock

Low CO d /t impaired vent. filling (PE, tension pneumo etc)

Dobutamine MOA

Incr. HR and contractility. used in acute HF. Incr CO. Not used in septic shock as it lowers PVR some.

Dopamine MOA

Used, in septic or cardiogenic shock. Incr. CO and Contractility and at higher doses causes vasoconstriction

Norepinephrine aka Levophed MOA

First line in septic shock and Cardiac shock due to vasoconstriction with little effect on HR or stroke volume
