MCTS Navigate the Salesforce Trust Site (System Status, Security, Compliance)

The Salesforce Trust site is made up of three sections.System Status provides a visual representation of the health of her instances.

Security gives her an overview of Salesforce security practices.

Compliance shows her the standards that Salesforce is in compliance with.

MCTS Navigate the Salesforce Trust Site (Check Your Status)

System Status is where Rachel goes to quickly navigate to the status sites for each product used by NTO. Most Salesforce products are grouped together on the Salesforce Status site, but some products have individual status sites.

MCTS Navigate the Salesforce Trust Site (Stay Secure)

The Security tab is where Rachel finds information about how to secure Salesforce and Marketing Cloud instances. The top section provides links to best practices for keeping her instances safe. The middle section points her to portals where Salesforce has gathered information by user roles. The bottom section contains links to training materials, such as Trailhead modules about security.

MCTS NSTS (Get Compliant)

She looks at the Compliance tab next. The Compliance tab is where Rachel can find all the national and international security standards that Salesforce complies with.

MCTS NSTS (Dig Deeper)

Rachel is used to finding status information about NTO's Salesforce account, security best practices, and compliance details on the Salesforce Trust site, so she’s glad to see Marketing Cloud has also moved to the site. Next, she reviews how to find status information related to NTO’s specific Marketing Cloud instance.

MCTS Check Marketing Cloud Status (Know the Status)

Fortunately, Rachel can now use the Salesforce Status site to check the health and status of her Marketing Cloud instance. The Status Site is where Salesforce provides transparency around service availability and performance for Salesforce products.

MCTS Check Marketing Cloud Status (Salesforce Status)

Navigate to the Salesforce Status site. She does this by clicking the Marketing Cloud link on the Salesforce Trust site. Here, Rachel finds links to individual products such as Marketing Cloud. She can also see information about ongoing incidents across the Salesforce platform, a list of ongoing maintenance currently being performed, and recently viewed instances.

MCTS Marketing Cloud Status

Here, she can see the health status of all the Marketing Cloud DBs. The status of each instance is indicated by color. Rachel can also select the Maintenances link to see a filtered list of all the maintenance that is currently being performed on Marketing Cloud.

MCTS Marketing Cloud Status (Check Current Status)

The NTO DB instance opens on the Current Status By Service view by default. This view allows Rachel to track the health of her Marketing Cloud instance by feature and gives her insight into any issues with the component services of her database. The current status of the NTO database is green. As with the Product site, the status of her instance is indicated by color.

MCTS Marketing Cloud Status (Review Historical Data)

The History tab displays the health of different parts of her Marketing Cloud instance, such as REST API and SOAP API. She can also select the number of days she wants to review.

MCTS Marketing Cloud Status (Maintenance Logs)

Rachel can see all the recent maintenance sessions for her instance in the Maintenances window. She can see the type of maintenance that was performed and also the services that were performed during the maintenance session.

MCTS Marketing Cloud Status (Subscribe to Email)

As the Salesforce admin, Rachel subscribes to email notifications about any issues or maintenance for her Salesforce instance, so she wonders if she’s able to do the same with her Marketing Cloud instance. The answer is: absolutely! To subscribe to notifications for an instance:Click Subscribe to Notifications.Enter the email address where you want to be notified.Click the confirmation link sent to your email.

MCTS Marketing Cloud Status (API's)

Rachel knows she can also use an application programming interface (API) call to bring her Status data into another site or page. The API uses a Swagger REST reference page. She makes a note to tell the usual Marketing Cloud admin about this option when he gets back from leave. Now that Rachel’s reviewed the Salesforce Trust and Salesforce Status sites, she’s ready to make sure NTO’s Marketing Cloud instance is running as smoothly as her Salesforce instance.
