Far West

tCold winters in forests and grasslands. Warm summers. In California food was abundant. People ate small game, fish and berries. Some lived in pit houses dug into the ground, others lived in cone-shaped houses covered ith bark, others wooden planks.

Southwest

Now Arizona, New Mexico, and southern parts of Utah and Colorado. Dry most of the year. Late July and august, thunderstorms drenched the area. Some farming and followed animals. Large apartment houses made from adobe.
