Vipissana

Meditation know as ‘insight’ meditation which enables the individual to see the true nature of things

Mettabhavanna

The four types of loving kindness, usually through meditation

Paranivana (or parinibbana)

The final stage of Nirvana, after death the Buddha (after achieving nirvana him or herself) passes on their teachings

Vessa

The raining season that lasts around 3 months typically, during these 3 months monks and lay Buddhists are separated . Also during these 3 rainy months the monks will stay in monasteries to keep dry preventing any illnesses

Kathina

Kathina occurs after vessa, When kathina comes the lay Buddhists and the monks are reunited this is why it’s also called the festival of unity.
