3.1.1- A Catholic Christian upbringing

What do they teach their children and where do they send them?

They teach their children to believe in God, to pray to God,they take their children to mass where they learn to worship God and they send their children to a Catholic school.

3.1.1- A Catholic Christian upbringing

Why does a Catholic upbringing lead to belief in God?

Parents would have told their children about God and they will believe their parents, children will believe that God exists because their parents would not waste their time praying to nothing, people go to Mass so God must exists, when the children go to school they will be taught that God exists by their teachers- therefore the children will believe in God.

3.1.2 Name the 4 religious experiences and how they lead to belief in God.

Numinous- the feeling of the presence of something greater than you. Awareness that there is something greater than them, which they believe is god.

-Conversion- when the person experiencing it wants to change their life or religion and commit themselves in a special way.

-Miracle- something which seems to break a law of science and makes you think only God could have done it.The only explanation is God.

-Prayer- an attempt to contact God, usually through words.

Why might some people disagree and think that religious experiences do not prove that God exists?

-A numinous experience is caused by your surroundings, whether a church or the stars, and may have nothing to do with God.

-All miracles can be explained.

-There are more unanswered prayers than answered ones, so unanswered prayers surely prove God does not exist.
