Swallowed topical corticosteroids (fluticasone propionate or beclomethasone) have been shown to produce clinical remission in up to 50% of adults. Proton pump inhibitors do not appear to be effective. Case reports citing the efficacy of leukotriene receptor antagonists have yet to be confirmed in randomized trials.
