Packer2 .recirculation bucket elevator shaft damaged on 15/10/23 |
During inspection we got the tail drum shaft is worn and bearing is moving freely on shaft. Main reason of tail drum shaft damage was the material coming out from the bucket elevator casing and going in between bearing and shaft. Tail drum shaft was worn up to 5 mm. Today only done the welding on shaft and fitted the bearing. Next week its tail drum will be taken out and welding will be done. After welding machining will be done and fitting. Mill outlet bucket elevator breakdown on 14.10.2023 |
Mill outlet side too much dusting. Stopped the mill and checked. Checked bucket elevator drive. Found at head drum side too much oil was spread. Checked the gearbox but there was no any problem. After this we checked fluid coupling and found that oil spread all around and fusible plug was bursted.
So we brought the servo 46 oil to fill the coupling and start the drive. Also we brought fusible plug . Filled the oil and fixed the both fusible plug. Started the elevator in auxiliary to check the any abnormalities but found that the bucket elevator was not moving. We doubted that due to too much material bucket elevator is not moving. So opened boot lvl door and emptied the material.
Again started the bucket elevator in auxiliary but elevator was not moving and tripping. We again checked the chain link and found that chain link was stuck. So tried to make the free chain link but it was not becoming free.
So We decided to open the bearing housing of bottom drum of elevator along with bearing. We done the same and open both side panel of elevator casing. Then we cut the three bucket to make the chain link free. After too much effort chain link was free. But now we had two work 1)Shaft of tail drum was worn out 20 mm at both side. 2)Both bearing was damaged.
So we taken out shaft of elevator and brought into workshop. Filled the metal on both end of shaft because both side of flywheel was not coming out. So it not machined on lathe. We finally done the grinding of bearing seating position of shaft and not done machining .
Now we brought the shaft from workshop to bucket elevator. And fitted the shaft with bearing and finally started the bucket elevator in night of 16/10/2023 at 9 pm. |

Measured the RP roller bearing on 12.10.23 for giving the manufacturing to ZWA company of China. |
OD of the bearing is 710 mm and Id is 500 mm. Width is 480mm of two bearing at the NDE side. So one bearing width will be 240mm.
Shaft Id is 500.1 at bearing position and length is 460 mm and 30mm length is going from 500.1 to 525.12 mm. |

1)O - ringh 158× 146x 6 mm 2)Bearing JHM 522649 thrust bearing. Changed on 19 November 2023 and fitted in SBM side gearbox.After filling grease it is running. Oilseal is not working and regularly it is being leaked. 3)15118 USA, 15250 outer race by timken changed on 27 October 2023. 4)Apron feeder problem started on 23 October 2023.
