Describe briefly two examples of sacred time.
Sacred time is cyclical- returning to its origins for renewal
- organized around celestial events and astronomy
- sacred time- is "the time of eternity"
-it is the holy ancient past in which the gods lived and worked
- by recalling and reliving the deeds of the gods and ancestors you are entering into the sacred time in which they live.
-indigenous people form their day around the sacred time in mythical events
- creating a sense of holiness everyday

Losing their land means a loss of contact with the earth and a loss of identity
2) Loss of language- out of the 6k languages, only 3k exist
-means loss of identity and loss of religion; culture is primarily passed down through language
and scripture
Can you envision ways in which to change these trends or are they inevitable?
yes, Australia is actually trying to save indigenous religions' language by teaching school teachers the languages, having them pass it on to students
also, setting aside land and actually NOT touching it
