Administered to studetns identified through the screening process as potential struggling readers or points during the year when students are not making adequoate progres. Provide detailed inforation about a student's reading development to help pinpoint potential cuaseds of difficulty and speciicic information to deelop an indiviudal intervention plan.

Informal Reading Inventories

Indivudally administered assessments of a student's ability to orally or silently read, retull, and answer questions about reading selections. At times, pasages are read to the student to determine a listening comprehension level. Administral requires extensive training to ensure that results are vali and reliable.

Progress Monitoring Assessments

Administed throughout the school year to determine a student's progress toward instructional goals and to help plan differentiated instruction. Criterion-referenced assessment, which is administed regularly, a minimum o fthree times per year, especially at criticically decision-making points, such as regrouping students. Occurrs frequently, as needed, for studens at-risk to detemrine growth or improvement.
