-ode- meant to praise a person, place, or thing -sonnet- 3 strict qualifications *14 lines long *must have a rhyme scheme *each line must contain 10 syllables -haiku- 3 lines; not rhymed; syllable count: 5, 7, 5 - elegy- a poem written to express the sadness of a persons death. (normally explains how the person died) -Haiku- |
