What is current?

Electrical current is the flow of electrical charge. The greater the rate of flow, the higher the current.

What is resistance?

The measure of how it resists the flow of charge.

What is potential difference?

The difference in electrical potential from one point in a circuit to another.

What is an ohmic conductor?

A resistor in which the current is directly proportional to the potential difference at a constant temperature. It is indicated by a linear (straight line) graph.

What is a series circuit?

- A closed circuit in which the current follows one path.

- The current through each load is the same

- the total voltage across the circuit is the sum of the voltages across each load.

What is a parallel circuit?

- A closed circiut in which the current divides into two or more paths before recombining to complete the circuit.

- Each load connected in a seperate path recieves the full circuit voltage.

- And the total circuit current is equal to the sum of the individual branch currents.

What is power?

The power of a device depends on the potential difference across it and the current flowing through it.

What is the word equation for charge?

CHARGE = CURRENT x TIME

Q = I t

what is the word equation for potential difference (voltage) ?

POTENTIAL

DIFFERENCE = CURRENT x RESISTSANCE

V = I R
