What is the geocentric model?
It is a model of the Solar System in which the Earth is in the centre. Geo means earth, e.g. geography "study of the world).Ptolemy came up with this theory but the model was wrong.
What is the heliocentric model?
It is a model of the Solar System in which the Sun is in the centre. Helios means the god of the sun. Copernicus came up with this theory and this model was correct.
How did Galileo disapprove the geocentric model?
He made a telescope and as he was observing Jupiter, he discovered four moons orbiting it so therefore if moons were orbiting Jupiter then that means that not everything orbits around the Earth.
What is converging lens?
They are a glass block that is curved on both sides to make it thicker in the middle. Rays are almost parallel when they reach us so these lens focus these rays.
What is a focal length?
It is the distance between the focus and the lens.
What happens in a refracting telescope?
The convex lens creates an image inside the tube and the eyepiece lens helps to magnify the image making it more clearer.
What is the order of the electromagnetic spectrum?
Radio waves, microwaves, infrared radiation, visible light, ultraviolet, X rays and gamma rays.
