Criticism (brain damaged patients)

KF impaired stm. HM impaired Ltm. Supports model? No. For kf model does not explain how info is passed into ltm without being affected by them impaired stm. For hm, cannot learn new facts or events, can learn new skills e.g. mirror drawing, suggest ltm is more than 1 store. Memory for skills (procedural memory), memory for events and facts (episodic)

Criticism (rehearsal)

Do not repeat everything that gets transferred to ltm and do not remember everything we rehearse/repeat

Criticism (simple)

Too simple. Reductionist. Does not explain why some things are remembered and others forgotten.

Criticism (chunking)

Info can flow in both directions from ltm to stm, chunking - meaning accessed from ltm and passed to stm. Information flow is interactional and not sequential as model suggests
