Give examples if words commonly used to describe energy in a range of situations.

Heat/thermal, electrical, kinetic, electrostatic, gravitational, light, chemical, elastic, nuclear energy.

State how energy is transferred in common situations.

Radio: Kinetic - electrical, sound heat and light energy.

Lamp: Electrical - heat energy & light.

Calculator: Light - electrical energy.

Drill: Electrical - kinetic, sound & heat energy.

State that gravitation potential and kinetic energy are often transferred, as when objects fall.

Any object that is raised against the force of gravity stores gravitational potential energy. For example, lifting a book up onto a shelf, you work against the force of gravity. Every moving object has kinetic energy. The more mass an object has, and the faster it is moving, the more kinetic energy it has.

State what energy is stored in fuels, hot objects and stretched objects.

Fuels: Chemical energy.

Hot objects: Heat energy.

Stretched objects: Elastic energy
