- when there is possible damage to underlying structures (this includes sounds longer than 3cm through full thickness of skin) -dirty or contaminated (all bites) -embedded foreign bodies with possible damage to underlying structure) -significant 2nd/3rd degree burn -stitches required -signs of infection |

List the steps to take for a patient that has a nosebleed |
-check if head/neck injury (do they have blurred vision, dizziness,pain?) -provide sterile gauze for under nose -wash hands and grab gloves -check face - history taking -do they have history of nosebleeds? - provide sterile gauze to pinch nose with (pinch for 15-20mins) -provide ice on bridge of nose (10min On, 5 min Off) |
