Define the term conflict
|
one party perceives its interests are being opposed or set back by another party.

|
Organizations experiencing too little conflict tend to be plagued by apathy, lack of creativity, indecision, and missed deadlines.

Why avoid conflict
|
Many people avoid conflict for a variety of both good and bad reasons. Tim Ursiny stated in his book “The Cowards Guide to Conflict” that people avoid conflict because they fear various combinations of the following things: harm, rejection, loss of relationship, anger, being seen as selfish, saying the wrong thing, failing, hurting someone else, getting what you want, and intimacy.
