Borden Classification


Grade I = drains to sinus or meningeal vein


Grade II = drain to sinus with venous reflux


Grade III = drain to cortical veins only

Cognard Classification


Grade I = into sinus with anterograde flow


Grade IIa = into sinus with retrograde flow


Grade IIb = into sinus with anterograde flow and cortical venous reflex


Grade III = into cortical veins only


Grade IV = into cortical veins only with venous ectasia


Grade V = into spinal permimedullary vein
