1. Most common 2. Centre of star can be a hub or a switch. 3. Many star networks can be connected together to form large network. 4. Very "robust" as failures are likely to affect only one terminal unless the failure is on the spine |

1. All terminals connected to a "bus" cable. 2. Bus has to be terminated at each end to ensure no data reflections and hence data crashes 3. Weaknesses of this system: - Bus carries all data traffic and so is primary factor affecting performance - If a fault develops on the bus cable all workstations connected will develop communication problems |
