What causes alterations in consciousness?

-Reduction in blood flow producing syncope

-Bilateral, symmetrical, and proximal
-often hit limb-girdle muscles of shoulders and hip -muscles are thin and hypotonic -reflexes spared until severe muscle atrophy occurs |
