What kind of neoplasm and its abnormalities? |
Liomyoma Benign- well circumscribed mass - dark staining area an= abnormal --> increased N:C ratio --> enlarged nucleii |
What kind of neoplasm and its abnormalities? |
Lyomyosarcoma Malignant- not well circumscribed - dark staining area = abnormal --> pleomorphic nucleii --> increase N:C ratio --> hyperchromasia |
What kind of neoplasm is it and its abnormalities? |
mets from lyomyosarcoma in lung-alveolar spaces --> loss of alveolar spaces --> some desmoplasia (collagen formation) -->pleomorphic and some cigar shaped nuclei --> tumour giant cells (where mitosis isn't occurring) --> loss of architecture of alveoli |
What kind of neoplasm is it and its abnormalities? |
adenocarcinoma- purple area abnormal of a colon (invades basement membrane) --> loss of cell polarity --> crowding --> hyperchromasia --> pleomorphism --> fewer goblet cells --> less differentiated --> mucinous lakes in glands, irregular borders |
What kind of neoplasm is it and its abnormalities? |
polyp- adenoma (benign) --> still forming glands- well differentiated --> loss of polarity --> cell crowding --> fewer goblet cells --> some mitosis -->non invasive- hasn't passed submucosa/muscularis mucosa |
What kind of neoplasm is it and its abnormalities? |
Carcinoma In situ of trachea/bronchus --> metaplasia caused by smoking ciliated psuedostrat columnar => strat sqamous --> mitosis and large nuclei in epithelium -->island of strat squamous (may have invaded) --> inflammatory cells and haemorrhage Early signs of carcinoma = carcinoma in situ |
What kind of neoplasm is it and its abnormalities? |
invasive squamous cell carcinoma in bronchioles --> nest and islands of cells --> keratin pearls (very eosinophilic) --> prickle cells with intracellular bridges |
What kind of neoplasm is it and its abnormalities? |
well circumscribed lesion- benign with glandular component -tissue in between glands are abnormal --> strands of collagen - benign neoplasm of fibroblasts |
What kind of neoplasm is it and its abnormalities? |
abnormal- pale purple area = adenocarcinoma of pancreas --> irregular glands --> abnormal nucleii --> crowding --> hyperchromasia -->pleomorphic nuclei --> prominent nucleoli --> mitosis |
