A master of Italian opera and English oratorio, born one moth before J.S. Bach, in Halle, Germany. He bacame England's most important composer and a favorite of Queen Anne. Composed a number of brilliant operas for outstanding sopranos and castrati. He has a triple career as impresario, composer and performer. he was stubborn, wealthy, generous, and cultivated. a master composer whose dramatic sense has rarely been equaled.

His masterpieces mark the high point of baroque music. long line of musicians and passed on his musical heritabe to four of his sons. Bron in Eisnach, Gemany. deeply religeous, Lutheran, not recognized outside of Germany, not hardly the greatest composer, was recognized as the most eminent organist, harpsichordist, and improviser.
