Climate

Mediterranean climate. Summers are hot and dry. Spring and autumn rather warm. Winters mild and sunny, T rarely falls under 0c. Tramontana strong winds help dry the grapes and prevent disease. Ideal for cultivating vine for VDN.

Soils

Vast variety of soils in Languedoc. Muscat de saint jean de minervois is situated in the Aude county and soil is mainly a limestone plateau. These soils return the heat accumulated during the day to the grapes promoting maturation and aromas.

Vineyard

Gobelet. Grape: muscat à petits grains blanc. Appellation has 6 wineries and 1 cooperative (cave le muscat) accounts for 80% of volumes produced. Yield limited 30hl/ ha. Min. 125g/ L residual sugar required.
