What was the process to use animal skins as protective clothing? |
Mastication, wetting hides with saliva and beating w/ mallet. Then oil or blubber. |

Certain tree oak and willow had tannic acid which was extracted by soaking bark in water. Hides immersed in solution became permanently pliable and water proof. |

NEW KINGDOM: Pharohs wore a long fringed tunic called KALASIRIS, semitransparent, allows to ser loin cloth. Women would wear, tight under breasts and secured by shoulder straps, used w/ short cape or wide jeweled collar, chest exposed. |

Both worn by Egyptians. SCHENTI was a loincloth. KAKASIRIS was a linen gown. |

Linen was used exclusively as a textile with the Egyptians, because it was all they were able to grow in the area. |
