STRICT

Used to remember the protocols for tying knots


1) Ensure the correct knot is SELECTED for the task


2) Place TENSION on the line to set and tighten the knot


3) all knots must be REMOVED from the line after use


4) all knots must be INSPECTED after tying. Look away and recheck


5) all knots to be CHECKED by another firefighter (life Rescue line only)


6) all knots must have no less than 150mm TAIL after tightening

4) should not SLIP excessively or over tighten


5) will not significantly reduce or damage the STRENGTH of the rope line

Square of the flow rate - half the flow rate, you quarter the friction loss


Length of hose - the longer the hose the greater the friction loss
