•it is a cushion of lubricating setup fluid

Dura mater

Location: the outer most membrane.

Membrane that adheres to the skull; white fibrous tissue

Arachnid membrane

Located between the dura mater and the pia mater .

Functions to maintain homeostasis in the brain by restricting the flow of chemical constituents from the blood to the central nervous system.

Cerebrospinal fluid

Surrounds the brain and spinal cord and has several functions.

1) provides cushioning and buoyancy for the brain.

2)carries essential metabolites into the neutral tissue and cleanses the tissue of waste as it circulates around the brain, ventricles and spinal cord.

3)entire volume of CSF is exchange every 3-4 hours
