Why have divorce rates increased

They have increased because when the divorce reform act was introduced in 1969 it allowed women to divorce their husband so people in unhappy relationships got divorced which was a lot because in the 1950s women were encouraged to marry straight away so some women marriages became unhappy and some women suffered from domestic violence so in 1969 they divorced to get out of that relationship

What has happened to divorce rates

In 1969 they shot up and increased over the years but recently its began to level out because people are waiting longer to find their perfect partner so they will be more happy

Postmodernist views on marriage and divorce

They don't see divorce as positive or negative but they see it as inevitable in a postmodernist life
