1st : Mandibular part ( behind Neck of mandible)


2nd : Pterygoid part (muscular part) ( over Lateral pterygoid muscle or deep to it)


3rd : Pterygopalatine part ( Pterygopalatine fossa)

Courses

Escapes from anteromedial Surface of Parotid, then pass behind Neck of mandible, pass between it w sphenomandibular Ligament, then pass over Lateral pterygoid muscle or deep to it, then enter between its two heads to enter Pterygopalatine fossa through its Lateral wall (pterygomaxillary fissure)

Branches

1st part : MIADA


M: Middle Meningeal artery : encircled by two roots of Auriculotemporal Nerve, Ascends to foramen spinosum to Supply Meninges


I: Inferior alveolar artery : descends to Mandibular foramen to Supply lower Jaw. Escapes from Mental foramen


A: Accessory meningeal artery : Ascends to skull through foramen ovale


D: Deep auricular artery : to auricle, ex auditory tube


A: Anterior tympanic artery : to middle ear



All pass through bony foramina



2nd :


Masseteric artery


2 deep temporal arteries


Pterygoid artery


Buccal artery



3rd : 5 Branches in pterygopalatine fossa

Pterygoid venous plexus, site, drains by , communication, tributaries

Over Lateral pterygoid muscle



Max vein joins with superficial temporal vein to Form RetroMandibular vein



With cavernous sinus through emissary vein



Recieve tributaries corresponding to Branches of Max artery
