Atrial Fibrillation (most common)
irregular and indiscernable P waves

Management:
> Usually converts to Normal Sinus Rhythm without TX in 24 hours

> If still abnormal in 48 hours: CARDIOVERSION

> Cardioverting Meds: Adenosine, Quinidine, Amiodarone, Procainamide

> Anticoagulant

Atrial Flutter
Sawtooth P waves

Management:

> Same A Fib meds
> If stable and no cardioversion:
Ca Blockers (Diltiazem) or Verapamil (Calan), Beta Blockers, Digoxin to decrease AV node rate

Ventricular Fibrillation

Management:

1. Defibrillate, then CPR in between
2. Epinephrine after failure of first shock
3. Amiodarone if resistant to treatment (also used in V tach)
4. Amiodarone + Lidocaine prevents second episode

Management used for Chest Pain upon arrival in ED

1. Oxygen
2. Aspirin
3. NTG
4. Morphine
5. Heads up
