Explain the motor effect
Any charged particle in a magnetic field experiences a force providing it isnt moving parallel to the magnetic field.
Why does the motor effect happen?
The magnetic field produced by the charged particle interacts with the magnetic field of the magnet.

Describe how a loudspeaker works
The current flowing through the coil is at 90° to the magnetic field.

Describe how a DC motor uses the principles from the motor effect.
The magnetic field produced by the current interacts with the magnetic field of the magnet producing a force which acts on the wire making it move.
It rotates because current flowing in opposite directions in parallel wires produces forces in opposite directions and these are not in the same straight line.
One side experiences upward force and the other side downward.
The coil rotates and after 90° the commutator halves swap contact from one brush to the other.
This reverses the current through the coil, reversing the forces on each side, continuing rotation.
Without the commutator the coil would stay in a vertical position, with equal forces acting in opposite positions.
