-used: the infusion of a product that has a negative pH, to facilitate Dee cleansing -galvanic current is used to create chemical reaction that emulsifies or liquefies sebum & debris -treatment is beneficial for oily or acne skin because it helps soften & relax the debris in the follicle before extractions -works on open comedones not closed ones -when esthetician is conducting desincrustation, client is holding positive electrode, the positive polarity -esthetician uses negative electrode, set on negatvie polarity -this creates a chemical reaction that transforms the sebum of the skin into soap- a process known as SAPONIFICATION -soapis made from fat & lye (sodium hydroxide) -flat electrode and the roller are the most common -instruct client I remove any jewelry & piercings, especially from the hand that will be used to hold the electrode -baking soda in water can be used as a desincrustation fluid for anaphoresis |
