Equal Pay Act (1970)

An Act to prevent discrimination, as regards terms and conditions of employment, between men and women. Made it illegal to pay a man more than a women for the same job.

Equality Act (2010)

It covers everyone in Britain and protects people from discrimination, harassment and victimisation.



Under the Equality Act you are protected from discrimination:when you are in the workplacewhen you use public services like healthcare (for example, visiting your doctor or local hospital) or education (for example, at your school or college)when you use businesses and other organisations that provide services and goods (like shops, restaurants, and cinemas)when you use transportwhen you join a club or association (for example, your local tennis club)when you have contact with public bodies like your local council or government departments

Sex Discrimination Act (1975)

protected men and women from discrimination on the grounds of sex or marital status. The Act concerned employment, training, education, harassment, the provision of goods and services, and the disposal of premises.

Divorce Reform Act (1969)

Family Planning Act (1967)

Made contraception readily available through the NHS by enabling local health authorities to provide advice to a much wider population.

Marital Rape Act (1992)

Women cannot be charged with committing rape because the offence requires penile penetration.

Shared Parental Leave Act (2014)

Allow parents to share leave following the birth or adoption of their child have come into effect. Upto 50 weeks of leave and 37 weeks of pay can be shared between parents.
