"Le" and "les" change to "se" in front of direct object pronouns that start with an "L" (third person singular and plural pronouns). This is done in order to have a harmonious sound.
When the pronouns "le", "les" and "se" are used in sentences it is common to use a clarifying phrase such as "a ellos", "a usted" etc., to specify the meaning of the pronoun.
