meritocracy

muslim women gets divorced. husband pays 3000 rupees according to shariah law. wife sues under indian law that says must pay monthly for rest of her life. supreme court rules he must pay monthly, agrees with shah bano.
shariah law
muslim law. koranic law. muslims become cangry with decision in shah bano, saying SC shouldn't have say about muslim law. battle about what being secular nation means.
muslim womens bill
from now on, for muslim women, use shariah law essentially overturning shah bano. gov did this because they were losing muslim vote because muslims angry over shah bano case.
