Who was Jesus Christ?
He was the "son of God"
because he was from God literally, and just like God.
(John 1:14)

How did Jesus Christ come into the world?
Luke 1 v 26 - 25

God created Jesus in Mary by His Holy Spirit.
Was there anything different about Jesus as God's Son
The bible tells us that he experienced life like us, so he can be a Mediator and God listens to us because of Jesus.

He could suffer, he could feel, he could sympathise.

One difference is that He was inclined to God's ways in a way that we are weak about.

(An example of this difference: Psalm 80 v 15-17)
Why Jesus also called the "Son of Man"?
In the Bible, He was often called the "son of man" because he was just like us.

He was a normal man suffering pain, weakness temptation and sorrow.

He was always going to die because of his mortal nature unless God made him immortal.
So Jesus could be tempted ... he wasnt automatically like God?
He learned obedience by the things that he suffered (Heb.4:1 5, 5:7-9).

Matt.4, Luke 4 (in the wilderness), Matt.26 (Gethsemane) - 40 days in the wilderness, and in the Garden of Gethsemane just before he was crucified .... he had to stop, think and choose his responses to glorify God - at time of stress, when he was feeling the pressure.
Could Jesus Christ sin like we can?
Yes - see Heb.4:15, 7:26, 1 Pet.2:21-25.
So Jesus exist before he was born of Mary?
No. John ch 1 shows he was in Gods mind (Gr. plan, purpose)from before our earth, and because of Christ all things were created.

Col 1:16 For by {Gr. because of} him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
Col 1:17 And he is before all things, and by {gr. because of} him all things consist.
What is a "disciple"?
a follower
Who were Apostles
the word means "ones sent".

The NT shows that they had been specifically people who knew Christ and who he sent out to spread the "gospel".
Why did Jesus get baptised?
Refer also the flashcard set on "baptism" ...

Baptism symbolises death and burial of the old life. Without God, we stay buried.

Getting up out of the water is like resurrection.

Jesus knew that he was mortal, and was expressing his hope for life, and knew he was showing us the way.

So even though he didnt sin, he was showing this holds true for all mortals, because mortals sin, die and need to come to God and hope for life from God.
What does Romans 3 v 25 mean?
Romans 3 v 25
God hath set forth to be a propitiation (means a way of satisfying an unpleasing problem) through faith in his (Jesus) blood, to declare his (Gods) righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

MEANING: believe in why Jesus gave his life ("blood") obediently to God: because God was and is sinned against by mortal humans. If you believe this (and live like it!) then God will forgive your sins, and give you life!
What does Romans 8 v 3 mean?
For what the law could not do (i.e. give you eternal life),

in that it was weak through the flesh (i.e. the law says what God wants but "flesh" - us - are weak to live Gods law perfectly),

God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh (Jesus, created and provided to us by God, refused to sin as we are naturally inclined to do - he showed that he condemned sin - he believed our life should be for God and not for sin)
Can you sum up why Jesus died for us?
Jesus introduced a new and better way for man to be reconciled to God, we see how we stand before God, we put away the old and live a new life, God forgives us and we will have eternal life (by His kind grace, as a gift)
