the nerve chord connects the brain to nerves on other parts of the body

Throat Pouches

at some point in a chordates life they get punches in their throat area


on fishes and lancelets grooves between these pouches become gill slits


on most vertebrates, the pouches disappear before birth

Vertebrae

The backbone is made up of a stack of many small bones


Each vertebrae has a hole in it. The holes from a tunnel that a bundle of nerve tissue or spinal cord, passes through.

Ectotherm

An animal that produces little internal body heat


Its body temperature changes with the environments temperature

Endotherm

An animal that controls the internal heat it produces and regulates its own temperature


Endotherm body temperature is fairly constant


(has adaptation ex. fur)
