Business Cycle

The cycle of fluctuations (recession, trough, recovery, expansion) in the economy that occur at irreqular intervals.
Discount Rate
The reduced interest rate the Fed charges private banks when they borrow money; another way in which the Fed controls the money supply.
Economic Indicators
Measurements of the economy's rate of growth against other years; examples are the GDP, GNP, unemployment rate, and inflation.
