Tell me about yourself?

I am a student currently studying business management at queen mary university. i have taken part in many work experiences and i have adapted in them very easily and majority of my work experiences involved dealing with customers and it has helped me develop new skills and enhanced my existing skills. I am always aiming to exceed all targets and objectives which are set.

What makes a good team player?

I would say the ability to communicate effectively with others as well as to be outgoing, friendly, and have strong communication with staff and customers. I enjoy working in a team environment, and I get along well with people. In my past work experience, i have been communicating with my coworkers effectively to enhance our productivity as a team.

Why should we hire you?

Well, I have all of the skills and experience that you’re looking for and I’m confident that I would be a superstar in this role. It’s not just my people skills, which have helped me develop great relationships with many people. But Im also passionate about this industry and I’m driven to deliver high-quality work and complete anywork that is assigned for me. At the same time, whilst working at my previous work experiences it has helped me be confident, and I would be able to adapt easily. I have the experience to start contributing from day one and I am truly excited about the prospect of getting started.

What are your strengths?

My real strength is my attention to detail. I pride myself on my reputation for following through and meeting deadlines. When I commit to doing something, I make sure it gets done, and on time. Another strength i would say i have is the ability to see a situation from different perspectives and I can get my work done even in the face of difficult obstacles. I also feel that my communication skills are top notch as i have been working with many people previously and especially when starting university I have the opportunity to costantly comunicate and work as a team

What are your weaknesses?

Some people would consider the fact that I have never worked in this field before as a weakness. However, being a fast learner and open minded, I have no pre-conceived notions on how to perform my job. With this new work, I will have the opportunity to learn the job the way you want it done. I am never bored because there is always something new to learn. In addition, I do bring my love of learning new things, which can only enhance my ability to learn this process very quickly. I'm always on-time and not a slacker. Another weakness I would say i have is that I can’t sit still and focus for extended periods of time. I was never a bookworm. I always preferred athletics and hands-on activities. To make sure that I got through school with good grades, I set study goals for myself. I would sit still and focus on test materials for thirty minutes. After, I would reward myself with a break to run around or socialize. This taught me discipline and helped me focus.

Why do you want to work here?

Well, I have great respect for your companies products and I would welcome the opportunity to work with the best in the business. At the same time, I have always heard about your companies respect for employees and how you create a great environment for rewarding innovation. I think my proactive style would fit in really well here — especially in this particular role. I would be proud to work for a company with such a long history of leadership in the industry and has been successful over the years.

What do you know about hamelys?

I know that Hamelys was founded in 1760 and is the largest toy shop in the world and is one of the world's best-known retailers of toys and has been selling the most magical toys and continue to bring delight to children's faces all over the world.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I would see myself completed with my education but I am driven to be the best at what I do and I want to work somewhere where I’ll have opportunities to develop my skills and work with people I can really learn from. I feel this is the best place i would enjoy working and this is a big reason why I would love to build a career here.

What do you do when a customer points out a big, known issue with your product or service?

I would first apologize and acknowledge known problems while assuring customers that our team is working on a solution.

Sell me this pencil

I’d like to understand your needs surrounding pencils and to help me understand better how my product might help. What are you currently using to write with? Where do you most often use this writing instrument and what types of things do you normally write? Are you happy with your current writing tools? What was satisfying about the experience? What was lacking or frustrating? This pencil is a unique, fine point and non smearing ink which would allow you to take legible notes.

Give me an example of great customer service?

A customer was getting frustrated waiting in the long queue and i apologized and advised him that their are other services available. Ive always made sure I provided efficient service when also making sure that the costumer was satisfied and comfortable enough to want to come back.

What makes for great customer service?

To solving any problem that customers may have as well as answering any question, but to also ensure that the customer had as positive an interaction as possible. Good customer service means having a thorough knowledge of the business or products being promoted, and being able to help customers make the best choices for them.

What do you enjoy about customer service?

I like meeting and talking to new people and I love the feeling of helping somebody solve a problem they’re having and giving customer what they want.

Tell me about a time you dealt with difficult customer service?

At my last work experience, a customer came in cursing and yelling at the workers. I knew it was out of frustration so i didnt take it personally and i made sure the customer knew their concerns were being heard. I listened carefully and apologized. He was complaining about how long the queue was and there isnt enough staff serving i explained that there are machines that you can use and i can help you with instead of waiting in the queue and that we are working as quickly as possible and he eventually understood and calmed down.

What would you do if you dont know the answer to a question?

I would first apologize that i am not sure of the answer i would refer him to someone else who can do it, or ask for a help from another staff and let customers know that i will be right back with the information they asked for.

What motivates you?

I am motivated by meeting set targets within deadlines, as it gives me a sense of accomplishment and it's something that I can look back on and say "I achieved that". I am also motivated by doing a good job and achieving the desired end result. I'm particularly motivated by the buzz of working in a team. It's very rewarding working closely with others who share the same common goal.

What are you most proud of?

This is my first ever job interview but i have done many work experiences and from that i would say that i am most proud of completing all the tasks assigned by the manager and always putting a smile on their face. I am also proud of getting into university and working hard to achieve my goals.

What is your favourite toy and how would you describe it to customers

I love toys even now but i mainly love board games because it is a super fun game that contributes greatly to a fun night with good friends and helps you spend time with family. It is very entertaining and is full of shared memories. It is easy to use and is not too hard for young children to play. It is great value for money as you will never get bored of it when playing with different people.

What is your favourite toy when you were younger?

It was a teddy, i still love teddies till now as it iz classic and anyone can enjoy it.

If you could be a superhero, who would you be?

I would probably be Batman as he is just a normal person who solves problems with unique, specialized tools. He doesn’t want recognition for his accomplishments or for other people to know who he is. Instead, his only desire is the satisfaction of knowing he has helped others when they needed it.

How would you like to progress from being a hamelys helper?

I would always love putting a smile on childrens faces and would see myself as still working along side with the present work colleagues and enjoy what i do everyday when i come to work.

I love playing sports such as net ball as it requires a sense of teamwork, trust and personal motivation which i think is important as i am competitive and love to be in the winning team.
