What is the difference between information and data?

Data is the raw facts that is inputed into a computer system while information is the data that has been processed.

1.) Machine Readable Documents- machine Readable Documents are documents that a computer can read. 2.)Human Readable Documents- These are documents that humans can read. 3.) Source Documents- A source document is used to capture information by writing it down. Source documents are human readable. Eg. Polls, Forms 4.) Turnaround Documents- A Turn Around Document is both machine readable and human readable. A machine creates it and a human adds more data to it or uses it as input for something else. |

Data Verification ensures that all the data entered into a computer contains no errors at all. Two methods of ensuring data verification are: 1.) Double Entry- This is where the same data is entered twice,if the data entered differs then it is not processed. 2.Proofreading- Proofreading checks the data entered against the data on the original source document. |
