what are the assumptions of the psychodynamic perspective? |
- that our childhood experiences affect our behaviour as an adult. - suggests we have little free-will and behaviour is determined by our unconcious mind. |

- develops around ages 2-3 - realises instant pleasure is not always possible - the mediator of the 3 parts - Th Ego seeks pleasure but looks for a realistic strategic way to do this |

- the rationaliser/conscious - develops around 3-5 years old - can make someone feel guilty - tells you what is right or wrong (based on morals, values and social norms) rather than just realistic ones. |
